Vampires

What is the fascination with these eternal creatures of the night?  Vampires have been around for a very long time. One of my favorite 80’s movies was The Lost Boys and one of my all time favorite televisions shows was Forever Knight. A few nights ago I watched Fright Night, which was a remake of the 80’s cult film. I enjoyed it and I liked the fact that the original vampire from the old movie made a cameo appearance.  What do all these movies have in common? Vampires of course. Vampires were the main topics of each of those shows. Vampires seem to be becoming more popular now days. They are everywhere, from movies, regular TV shows, to books.  I can say that I’m not a horror book reader, but I did enjoy reading Blood Throughout the Night. I honestly don’t see vampires ever leaving the human mind. I believe that as time goes on we will see more creatures of the night.  Check out this new adventure all about vampires Blood Throughout the Night by Bobby Rodgers.

Blood Throughout the Night Chapter 1

Chapter 1

Jack and Justin Black were cousins, but they were close like brothers. They had been around each other since they were small children. Justin idealized his older cousin. Whatever Jack did, Justin would eventually follow. They were now grown men enjoying college life. Both of them were handsome and known to be womanizers. Everyone referred to them as “pretty boys,” clean shaven, with light brown complexions and short curly hair. Both of the cousins stood 6’2” with athletic muscular builds.

The cousins loved to party and would usually bounce around to several parties in one night. One night they were parting at a frat house at Morgan University in the 1100 block of Hillen Road.  They were drinking and having fun when a beautiful woman walked over to Justin. Everyone noticed her beauty when she entered the room. She was 5’10”, light skin with shoulder length hair, and a curvy, voluptuous body.

She was wearing a light blue blouse, and a short black skirt showing all of her smooth yellow legs. Justin was immediately mesmerized by her beauty and couldn’t believe what just walked up beside him. He just stood there and stared at the woman with a sly grin on his face. He began to look her up and down from head to toe, already imagining her naked and him all over her.

“Hello?  Are you going to get me a drink or just stand there and stare at me?” asked the beautiful woman.

“Oh, I’m sorry. Wait here, I’ll be right back, beautiful.”

Justin walked over and poured some punch mixed with alcohol into a cup and walked back over and handed it to her.

“Here you go, pretty lady.”

“Thanks, Justin, I’m Netty it’s nice to meet you.”

“Whoa, how did you know my name?”

“Who doesn’t know the famous Justin Black? All the girls are talking about how great a lover you are. I must admit you are very handsome.”

“Well what can I say, I aim to please.”

“Is that right Justin, how about we get right to the point? Show me, I’m dying to see what you can do”

“Are you for real?” asked Justin.

“Ooh yeah follow me playboy.”

Netty grabbed Justin by the hand and led him into one of the upstairs bedrooms. Once inside, Netty removed her blouse, bra, and panties. She then lay across the bed and blew kisses at Justin. Justin was completely blown away by Netty’s eagerness and her fine sculptured body. He stood there and staring as his manhood stiffened and became hard as a rock.

He then excitedly removed all of his clothes and walked over to Netty. She pulled him onto the bed and climbed on top of him. She then slid his manhood into her already wet, hot hidden treasure. She rode it up and down, taking in every inch. Justin just lay back and enjoys her warm tight walls. He was moaning from the pleasure he was receiving, while Netty looked down at him.

“How does it feel, baby?” she asked.

“Oh, shit, you feel so good!”

“It feels good Justin, tell me again how it really feels.”

“It feels good!” said Justin.

Netty picked up her pace; now riding him like a bull. Justin screamed and his body tightened and he exploded inside her. Just before he released his last drop he looked into her eyes which had changed to a dark red color. He also noticed that when she opened her mouth she now had fangs. She bent over very quickly and bit the left side of his neck. Justin had no time to react, blood gushed out of his ripped flesh.

As she drained the blood from him, Justin weakly tried pushing her off, but she was too strong. The bedroom door suddenly opened and his cousin Jack walked in. Justin started waving for help. Netty looked up with blood all over her face, her eyes glowing bright red, she opened her moth revealing sharp fangs.

Jack, now terrified, turned and ran from the room. Justin tried to call for him, but was losing consciousness. The monster went back to her wounded prey and sucked the last drop out of his body. After Netty was done feasting, she left his lifeless body on the bed. She communicated her thoughts telepathically to her master, King William Green. Justin’s body was then removed and taken back to the King’s home. Justin’s body was placed in the basement in a wooden coffin. They began the wait for him to awaken.

Meanwhile, on the opposite side of town, Jack drove home, still shaken up from what he just witnessed. He couldn’t get the picture out of his mind, his cousin was being slaughtered right in front of him. He felt like a coward, for leaving Justin behind, his actions made him question his manhood. He dismissed it as if it did not happen, but his hands were shaking as he walked into his house and turned on the lights. Before he could lay down his keys he noticed a strange man standing in his living room.

“Who the fuck are you! How you get into my house!”

“I’ve been expecting you, Jack. My name is King William Green.”

“How do you know my name?”

“I know everything about you Jack.”

“What do you want?”

“Jack, you have been chosen to be one of my children.”

“Look, I don’t know how you got in here, but you better leave before I fuck you up!”

“Ha, ha, that’s funny Jack, now how you going to do that?”

“Dude you’re crazy, this is the last time I’m going to tell you to leave.”

“Or you will do what, Jack?”

Jack walked over to the stranger and grabbed him by his shirt. He tried to walk him to the front door, but he did not move. Jack then hit him hard in the face with a closed right fist. The King started to laugh, the punch had no effect on him. Jack tried to hit him again, but the King caught his punch and threw him across the room.

Jack got up surprised and confused after feeling the stranger’s power. Jack charged the unwanted guest and tried to throw him to the floor, but the King was too strong. Jack was picked up by the throat and slammed to the floor. The wind was knocked out of him. King Green bent down and picked Jack up off the floor. As he turned Jack’s head to the left, long white fangs protruded out of the King’s mouth. He bit Jack’s neck and started sucking his blood at a fast pace. Blood flowed out of his vicious wound, his life was being sucked right out of him. After the King was finished, he turned to mist, leaving his victim’s lifeless body behind. Once the King reached his home he sent some of his followers to retrieve Jack’s body and place it the basement beside his cousin.

The next day, everybody in the frat house got up slowly after a wild night of partying. One of the frat members, Jason Lewis walked through the house waking everyone up. In the front upstairs bedroom he is shocked to find a large amount of blood all over the bed and floor. Although scared, he managed to snap out of his shock and ran downstairs to call the police. Approximately five minutes later a call was broadcasted by the police dispatcher to the 1800 block of Hillen Road for an injured person.

“KGA (police dispatch) to 424 unit.”

“424 standing by.”

“Respond to 1800 Hillen Road, Morgan University frat house for an injured person.”

“424, 10-4, I’m on the way.”

When 424 unit Officer Ted Moore arrives on the scene, he is taken to the upstairs front master bedroom. Once inside the officer is taken aback by the large amount of blood that he sees. He immediately calls for his supervisor and a DDU (District Detective Unit). Within fifteen minutes, Detective Sunny Rivers and Detective Martin Cantu arrive on the scene.

“Hello officer. What do you have?” asked Detective Cantu of Officer Moore.

“Sir, I received a call for an injured person. Upon my arrival a college student by the name of Jason Lewis took me up upstairs to the front bedroom. There was blood everywhere.”

“Let’s go see what you are talking about, officer,” said Detective Cantu.

Officer Moore led the detectives to the room. When the detectives enter the room they see a large amount of blood all over the bed and floor. They can’t believe the amount of blood, it’s the scene of a massacre. The scene gave both veteran officers goose bumps.

“Damn what happened in here?” asked Detective Cantu.

“It looks like someone got slaughtered in here,” said Detective Rivers.

“Yeah it looks like it, partner, but where is the body?”

“That’s a good question, partner. Looking at the crime scene, it doesn’t look like the victim was dragged or carried out,” said Detective Rivers.

“Officer Moore, bring the college student in, I want to question him,” said Detective Cantu.

Officer Moore returned with the very nervous Jason Lewis.

“Hello Detective. You wanted to see me?”

“Yes. I’m Detective Cantu and this is my partner Detective Rivers. Can you tell us, what happened in here?”

“I don’t know, Detective I woke up after partying all night and was waking everyone up so they could leave. I came in here and saw blood everywhere, so I called you.”

“Do you know who came into this room?” asked Detective Rivers.

“Detective, the house was packed with people.  It could have been anyone.”

“Alright I’m going to need the names of everyone who attended this party,” said Detective Rivers.

“Yes, sir, that shouldn’t be a problem I will get it to you as soon as I can,” said Jason.

“Thank you, sir, and what’s your name?”

“It’s Jason Lewis. I’m chapter president my frat Alpha Psi.”

“Mr. Lewis, we’ll be getting back in touch with you,” said Detective Rivers.

While the detectives were still on the scene crime lab tech Ross arrives on the scene. He starts processing the crime scene and taking photographs. After the detectives are done with their investigation they address the primary officer and get ready to head back to the office.

“Officer, this is a strange case, so for right now just write this up as an injured person and make sure I get a copy of your report before the end of the day,” said Detective Cantu.

“Yes, sir, after my supervisor approves my report I will make you a copy,” said Officer Moore.

New interview with Joey Pinkney

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write Freedom Is Not Free?
King James: I got my inspiration for this book based on a situation that my father went through. He died in 2009, and I wanted to let the world know what was going on. My father was fighting for fair economic treatment for his neighborhood called Madison Park, which is in Montgomery, AL. The neighborhood is one of the oldest black communities in the Southeast.
JP: What sets Freedom Is Not Free apart from other books in the same genre?
KJ: This book is a mixture of a detective/mystery novel, an urban lit novel, and a conspiracy adventure. My main character Rashard “Stone” Williams was a former gang member that turned his life around. He served in the Iraqi War and was a highly decorated U.S. Marine. The book picks up with him working as a Houston police detective.
JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to Freedom Is Not Free getting out to the public?
KJ: I have to say that using social networking sites and going to book fairs have led to my success. I’m starting to see the fruits of my labor.
JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish Freedom Is Not Free?
KJ: I usually write at night because I’m a night owl. It took me a few months to finish this book.
JP: What’s next for King James?
KJ: I’ve been making some moves. I have a new book called Tangled Webs, which is written by myself and Bobby Rodgers. The next move for me is putting out a new Rashard “Stone” Williams novel called Bayou City Blues. So if any readers out there love action packed stories check it out.
